So, what are you supposed to get from this? That the Green Crystal CAN float at a specific altitude all on its own? Turning off all panels means (or it should, by logic) that there's no power from the top or the bottom bases. IF you turn off ALL panels, the Stoneship will MAGICALLY just float at Level #3 (counting from top to bottom). I just think, overall, they made a VERY VERY VERY simple puzzle, but COMPLICATED the CRAP out of the details for difficulty's sake.ĮDIT: I was mistaken about only needing 2 lights at the top.īut my point still stands, that the method to make it float is arbitrary and irrelevant. The whole "the shape of the Rock Pipe gives the shape that you match at the bottom of the cables" is SUPER CONTRIVED. But the way they implemented the factors and stipulations was really dumb and arbitrary. The sound/crystal part of the puzzle does make a little sense. That's the logic I came with, when I first played the game, and 16 years later, that was still my logic, until I started reading the walkthroughs, and realized that the bottom base is almost irrelevant to get the Stoneship to the right level. THIS logic is more akin to countering gravity, but the game is doing it. You turn only 2 lights in the upper Panel (2 power levels), and THAT'S enough to make the Stoneship float at the right level, regardless of the bottom base being on. To give enough power to BOTH bases that would EQUALIZE the force generated, enough to make the item float.īut that's NOT what happens in the puzzle. Or if using 2 magnetic bases (like in the game) To give it enough power to COUNTER GRAVITY. If one is talking about using electromagnets to make something float, there are 2 ways to accomplish this:
